There is a quality range within hanadama standards, and this bracelet is composed of top-graded hanadama akoya pearls grown in the cold coastal waters of Japan. The finest pearls from this region are known for their mirror-like luster and smooth surfaces – qualities you will clearly see the moment you open the box.
For more than a decade, we’ve imported hanadama pearls from just two sources in Japan. This is the only way to guarantee the pearls have grown for two full seasons – a farming technique known as “koshimono.” This is very important because you want your pearls to last a lifetime, and you want to be able to pass them down from generation to generation. Two seasons of growth guarantees you will.
We have selected a few of our finest, natural-white akoya pearls to submit to the Pearl Science Laboratory of Japan for grade certification. These pearls have achieved the highest hanadama rating. The certificates also state that there is no evidence of color addition - proof the pearls are naturally white. A uniquely numbered certificate will accompany your bracelet.
The pearls in this bracelet measure 7.0-7.5 mm, the most popular size. Every pearl is individually knotted on twin silk, and the bracelet is finished with a solid 14 karat clasp.
